Landslide displaces two families in Kaski

Kathmandu: Two families were displaced by a landslide triggered by incessant rains at Madi of Kaski while four houses are at a constant risk of the disaster.

Five houses at Madi ward no 6 and ward no 1 experienced the consequences of monsoon landslides. The families of Kamalapati Baral and Deepak Baral are taking a refuge at relative's home and a social organisation, according to local representative Dil Bahadur Chhetri.

He said the local government has been recommended for taking measures for the alternative management of the affected families. Rural municipality chair Devi Jung Gurung promised to ensure relief to the displaced families. Other wards in Madi suffer the consequences of floods that especially damaged rural roads in the village.
