Police arrest one more person in gold scam

Kathmandu: Police have arrested one more person for his connection with the recent gold scam.

'Shiva Kumar Sarraf of Bara district has been arrested, 'said Deputy Inspector General of Police, Kuber Kadayat. A team from the Central Investigation Bureau arrested Sarraf on Thursday night.

With this, the number of people arrested in connection to the gold scam has reached 27, said police. Police have made public a person arrested on the charge of his involvement in cheating Rs. 1.095 million by sending a fake receipt online.

He is Sushan Ghimire, 22, of Godavari municipality-7 in Lalitpur, currently living at Gothatar of Kathmandu, said Spokesperson of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Minbhawan, Superintendent of Police Rabindra Regmi. Ghimire has been sent to the District Police Range, Teku, for further investigation into the case.

A team of the Department of Revenue Investigation had on July 19 seized 60.716 kg of gold from Tribhuvan International Airport.
